Privacy Policy for PDF Master

Last Updated:

At PDF Master, we are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your information secure. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using our mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect or store personal information like your name, phone number, or the contents of your documents as part of normal App usage. Most App data stays on your device.

1.1 Device Permissions

To provide scanning and document management features, we may request permissions such as:

  • Camera access (scan documents, capture images)
  • Storage access (save, read, and manage files on device)
  • Photo library access (import images from your gallery)

These permissions are used only for their stated purposes and can be revoked anytime in your device settings.

1.2 Usage Data

The App does not include an analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and we do not build usage profiles ourselves. The only usage information generated is what the third-party services described in section 4 collect for their own purposes: advertising identifiers and ad interaction data through Google AdMob, and a notification token through Firebase Cloud Messaging.

2. How We Use Information

We use permissions and anonymized data only to:

  • Enable scanning, image capture, and document processing
  • Store and manage documents locally on your device
  • Provide features like OCR and signatures
  • Show advertisements (where enabled)
  • Improve App stability and user experience

3. Data Storage and Security

Your scans and documents are stored locally on your device unless you choose to export or share them. We do not automatically upload your documents to our servers.

The App may create temporary files and cache during normal operation (for example, during image processing or PDF generation). These may be automatically cleared or can be cleared manually within the App.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Google AdMob

If ads are enabled, we use Google AdMob to display them. AdMob may collect device identifiers, including your advertising ID, and ad interaction data in order to serve and measure ads.

Where the law requires it — including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and certain US states — the App shows you a consent form before any personalized advertising, using Google's User Messaging Platform. If you decline, you still see ads, but they are non-personalized: they are not targeted using a profile built from your activity. You can change your choice at any time from Settings > Ad privacy options. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

4.2 Google ML Kit

We may use Google ML Kit for scanning and OCR features. ML Kit can process images locally on your device. For more information: https://developers.google.com/ml-kit.

4.3 Firebase Cloud Messaging

If you allow notifications, we use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver them. To do this, Firebase generates a registration token that identifies your installation of the App. We use this token only to send you product notifications, such as tips, feature announcements and reminders. We do not link it to your name or email, and you can stop it at any time by turning off notifications for the App in your device settings. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

4.4 Google Play Billing (Subscriptions)

Premium subscriptions are processed by Google Play. When you subscribe, Google Play handles the transaction and shares the purchase status with the App so it can unlock premium features. We never receive or store your payment card details. Your purchase history is held by Google under your Google account, and you can manage or cancel a subscription at any time from Google Play > Subscriptions.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Your documents remain private and accessible only to you, unless you choose to share or export them.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
